Liz, the funeral was beautiful. Your speech was perfect. The love expressed by both you and your sister for your Mom aptly described her personality and her character. We were fortunate to meet Veronica at the Ruttan's holiday dinners. She was a lovely person. Our deepest sympathy to you all your family. Love Howard and Kate

To Liz, Sue and family, I’m thinking of you at this difficult time. I had the privilege of knowing your mother and what a wonderful lady she was. I will always remember her beautiful gardens she tended to, and her fabulous sense of humour. She was such a lovely, personable, fun and loving woman. I am so sorry for your loss. You will have so many wonderful memories of her. Keep your memories close and she will always be with you. With deepest sympathy.

I first got to know Veronica lying on a mat next to her in Pilates. I watched in awe as she, 20 years my senior, did things with her body I could only dream of! I was fortunate to get to know her more outside of the Pilates studio and always enjoyed listening to the many stories of her life. I soon learnt of her energy, her fierce independence, her very generous heart, her loyalty to friends, her fondness for her family and her wonderful sense of fun! Although I only got to know Veronica during the last decade of her life, I sensed a full life with many adventures. I hope the many incredible memories you will have of this special lady provide some comfort during this very sad time. My sincere condolences.

My heartfelt condolences to Liz, Sue, Fred, Emily and Chris. As well to her sisters Pippa and Diana and all if her overseas family members. Veronica was a dear friend of mine for many years. We first met as team teaching partners and we quickly became friends. Veronica had a tremendous sense of humour and we were often in stitches about the funniest comments children would make. One of our activities in class was the broad stair. Veronica asked a little boy, " What are you working on"? The little boy replied:" The long broads" Veronica looked around and with a straight face said: " The only long broad I see is you, you better watch out". Well, we could not help ourselves and we started to laugh uncontrollably. The little boy could not figure out what was happening to his teachers. Veronica was very proud of her daughters and grandchildren, she loved spending time with them. She would often share stories about the grandchildren and Veronica was amazed how much they have matured. Last year she had a family reunion planned for her overseas family but to no avail, due to World circumstances this could not take place. I am so grateful to have had such an amazing friend as Veronica. I will forever treasure her friendship. My heart goes out to all of you. We have lost a beautiful soul. May your memories of Veronica help you in dealing with this great loss. Ellen Laehnemann
