Obituary for William "Bill" McGill
William Robert McGill (Bill)
January 20, 1958 – March 4, 2023
It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of Bill McGill in his 65th year. Bill passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by family on Saturday, March 4th at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, ON. Loving husband of Tammy Carson. Beloved son of William and Anne. Much loved father of Samantha (Trevor Daley), Christopher (Scott Brown) and the late Miranda. Stepfather to Ashley Carson (Joey Besenyodi) and Tosha Carson (Jordan Black). Loved brother of Deborah (Paul Duncan) and John (Cathy). Cherished grandfather to Nicholas and Benjamin Daley, Mackenzie Carson and Sage Besenyodi, Nash, Logan, Church and Camryn Black. Uncle to Kathleen (Jay Graver), Alexandra and Matthew. Great Uncle to Nathan and Vienna Graver.
The family is devastated by his passing and will miss his incredible sense of humor and amazingly large heart. Bill was outgoing and personable with a wonderful knack for making everyone feel included. He was the life of the party and had an amazing ability to turn any situation into an incredibly funny story. Bill was extremely dedicated to his family and the love of his life, Tammy. The simplest pleasures in life brought him great joy. He loved a quiet evening with Tammy by his side and a glass of rye in hand. He equally enjoyed sharing their home on Lake Simcoe hosting many weekend parties with family and friends often fishing, tubing or sitting around a raging bonfire.
The family would like to thank everyone in the Cardiac Care Unit of Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie for their support.
Celebration of Bill's Life to be held on Saturday, March 18th from 3 p.m.- 6 p.m. in the Traditions Banquet Hall at Shelba Shrine, 142 John Street, Barrie, ON, L4N 2L2 Tributes will start at 4 p.m.
