Vera attended Bradford Royal Infirmary and graduated as a Registered Nurse on April 10, 1959. It is bitter-sweet to learn of Vee's passing from this life. My wife, Eleanor and I met Vee in the mid-seventies. She served as my prep nurse when I required shoulder surgery. She asked why I was calm while going through the procedure. I spoke of my peace in knowing Jesus, which triggered her quest to know Him also. She was a good friend and sister in the Lord.

So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord. For we live by believing and not by seeing. Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:6-8)
