Obituary for Shirley Hicks
Hicks, Shirley Norene – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Norene Hicks (Mylks), peacefully at home surrounded by family, on October 25th, at the aged of 92. Devoted wife to Dalton Hicks for 63 years. Loving mother to Kelly (Summerfeldt) and Kathryn. A proud grandmother of Kyle, Amy and Nicole and great grandmother to Bryce, Payton and Lucy.
Shirley was born August 25th, 1930 to Marguerite and Clarence Mylks, and predeceased by her brother Grant (Gus), in the town of Richmond Hill. Shirley moved to Delta at a young age but came back to Richmond Hill to live with her granny while she attended Richmond Hill High School. Shortly after graduation she was hired by a local Dentist, Dr. Mason, as his assistant.
In 1953 she married Dalton, and the two of them lived a life full of adventure, always creating loving memories for their family and with many friends. She shared her love for music and dance with Dalton who she is now peacefully with.
A truly caring individual leaving behind her love for all who knew and cared for her.
She will be greatly missed.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Marshall Funeral Home, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill on Monday, October 31, 2022 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. If desired donations to the Margaret Bahen Hospice or Hill House Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
