It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family announce the passing of Marian Wisniewski. A devoted wife and mother, she passed away peacefully at Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill. Born and raised in Levack, Ontario, she eventually moved to Richmond Hill where she began her career and lifelong passion of teaching in the York Region Catholic District School Board. It was often said there wasn’t a stranger that Marian didn’t know. There was nothing Marian liked better than an interesting conversation with a good (or new) friend. She could have an engaging conversation with anyone, anywhere, anytime. Marian was an avid reader, enjoyed life to the fullest with all her family and her many friends throughout life.

Marian was a loving and devoted mother of Derek (Tara) and Glen. She will be sorely missed by her sister Caroline (Wayne) and brother Morris (Tami). She will be fondly remembered by all of her family members and dear friends. She now rejoins her son Brent, parents Paul and Lena, and Frank, her beloved husband and best friend for over 56 years.

The family would like to thank the exceptional staff at Hill House Hospice for their attentive care and making her wishes come true. In memory of Marian, donations can be made to Hill House Hospice. A memorial service will be held in the spring. Arrangements entrusted to Marshall Funeral Home. www.marshallfuneralhome.com

Afterglow by Helen Lowrie Marshall
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an after glow of smiles
when day is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering
softly down the ways,
of happy times and laughing times,
and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve
to dry before the sun.
Enjoy the memories that I leave behind
when day is done.
