Obituary for Manylda Caramancion

Maria Nylda Caramancion passed away on November 22, 2022 after bravely surviving many illnesses and surgeries during a span of several years. Her strength, resolve, love, and kindness will be remembered by all who have been blessed to have come to know her and be a part of their lives.
Maria Nylda was born on September 18, 1945 in the Philippines to parents, Mariano and Leonida Villena. She received her B.S.A. and M.Sc. in Soil Biochemistry from the University of the Philippines at Los Banos. There, she fell in love and met her husband, Manuel. After getting married, they went abroad to Ontario for their graduate studies at the University of Guelph, where she received her Ph.D. in Soil Biochemistry. She pursued her love of learning and academia, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute, in Montreal, Quebec.
Upon the birth of her daughter, she studied Nursing at Dawson College in Montreal. Her working career as a Nurse started at Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Quebec. When her family moved back to Ontario, she continued her passion for Nursing as a travelling community Nurse with the Victorian Order of Nurses.
She is survived by her caring husband, Manuel Caramancion; loving daughter, Christine and her husband, Cliff Francia; and devoted sister, Felicitas Meneses. She is now in peace with the Lord with her late grandson, Andre John, and late grand-dog, Kuma. She will be missed by many, but her joyful memories live on in our hearts forever.
