Obituary for Ken Roberts

Kenneth William Roberts
September 14, 1942 - January 16, 2024

Kenneth William Roberts passed away peacefully at Humber River Hospital on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at the age of 81 years.

Ken was born in Toronto, Ontario on September 14, 1942 to Doris and Edward Roberts. He started his first job at the age of 14 at Steinberg’s, kick starting his illustrious 47 year career as a produce manager in the Supermarket industry. After several attempts at retiring (he loved his job so much), Ken became a beloved and highly popular crossing guard for the local school board.

In 1968, Ken met the love of his life, Marion, in Willowdale, Ontario and were married for over 53 years. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two daughters. Ken was a loving and supportive husband to Marion (nee Carter). He was a proud and devoted father to Heather Steiner (Jeff) and Kerri-Lou Roberts Geens (Derek). He was a cherished Boppie to grandchildren Karina, Kallen, Braden and Carter and adored his great granddaughters Elianna-Rose and Araliya. Ken was a doting friend to Jackson, his four legged buddy.

Ken will also be missed by his sister Gloria Clydesdale, his nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends. He was predeceased by brothers Don and Gord and sister Marie.

Ken had an infectious zest for life. He had a big heart that had room for everyone. Ken enjoyed holidays in the sun and spending time with his family and friends in and around the pool and who can forget those legendary annual pool parties. He was a dedicated baseball fan, enjoyed playing ball, bowling, golfing and fishing. He spent time cottaging with friends and family, was always ready for a great night of poker playing or playing cribbage with his grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to share condolences, memories or in lieu of flowers we invite you to donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada in honour of Boppie.
