Obituary for Joseph Marcel Bouchard

Bouchard, Joseph Marcel André - Peacefully passed away on December 4, 2022, after a tough battle with cancer. Marcel Bouchard, 79, was born November 22, 1943 in Chicoutimi, Quebec. At the age of 21, his sense of adventure lead him to Detroit, Michigan where his love for construction, and the freedom of working outdoors began. During his time working across the United States he learned his second language, English. He settled down in Minnesota. In 1979 he married Nancy Bouchard and raised two beautiful daughters. They started their own roofing company where they worked side by side.
Marcel enjoyed snow plowing, gardening and his riding lawn mower. He was also devoted to his faith and joined the Knights of Columbus organization, where he loved to help and serve his community, make soups and sell panettone.
Marcel also loved spending time with his neighbours Kathy and Ron, Tammy and Jay, Tracy and Tyler and all of the children. They are family to him.
During retirement, Marcel and his wife Nancy started fostering children, which lasted for 10 years.
His greatest joy was helping people and his coffee meeting with his friends.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Bouchard (Richmond Hill), two daughters, Michelle Mahowald (Tom) and Collette Brogger (Dave), five grandchildren Hope, Mack, Myranda, Thomas and Cirby, eight great-grandchildren, one brother Roger (Raymond), and his sisters Bernadette, Louise, Gervais and Ghislene. He is predeceased by his parents Noel and Maria, and his sisters Pierette and Cecil.
A memorial service will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation prior to the service from 12 noon till service time at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Hill House Hospice, 36 Wright Street, Richmond Hill, Ontario, L4C 4A1, where Marcel was given exceptional care.
