Obituary for Helen Crawford

On the morning of October 11th, Helen Mae Crawford, quietly left us on her final journey.
Helen was a wonderful mother, grandmother, GiGi, and friend to many. Her spark, sense of humour, and general feistiness lives on in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You always knew where you stood with Helen. She taught all of us to stand up for what we believe and to always try to be as kind as possible.

She is loved and remembered by her sons David (Jo), John (Kim), Stephen (Catherine), her grandchildren Isaac, Leif (Aleks), Courtney (Jeff), Andrew (Samantha), Alex (Amanda), Harrison, Hannah (Tim), Connor (Rachel), Lauren (Jeff), and her great-grandchildren Abby, AJ, and Olivia.

She will be missed by the many friends, medical staff, and caregivers that have looked after her over the years.

Special thanks go to the staff at Hastings Centennial Manor in Bancroft Ontario, who loved and cared for her over the last number of years. Many of the staff were at a loss when they found out Mum had left us. Everyone had a memory to tell just how much she meant to them.

Visitation will be held on Saturday October 15th, beginning at 11:00 AM at Marshall Funeral
Home, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill, ON, 905-884-1062 |www.marshallfuneralhome.com. A short Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 PM followed by a small reception. Helen will be laid to rest at Mount Pleasant Cemetery following the reception. She will rest at Mount Pleasant Cemetery with her parents, Arthur and Reina Crawford, her infant daughter Heather, and her Grandmother Clara.

It was Helen’s wish that there be no sad faces or black clothes. Wear your brightest colours and be prepared to laugh (and maybe shed the odd tear) while we remember her.

In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Auxiliary of Hastings Centennial Manor, The Auxiliary of Hastings centennial manor or the charity of your choice.
