Obituary

Harold passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital on February 16, 2021 at the age of 77 after a short -lived battle with Glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. He leaves behind the three most important people in his life- Janet, his wife of 51 years and his daughters, Michelle and Diana.
Harold was an Ontario Land Surveyor and Cartographer, working more then 30 years at the City of North York. He was also an amateur musician and a skilled carpenter. Everyone who knew Harold was touched in some way by his desire to be of help to them.
Cremation has taken place. As per Harold’s wishes there will be no funeral service, but he did favour a gathering in the future when it is safe to do so, to celebrate his life. Online Condolences and memories of Harold may be shared at www.marshallfuneralhome.com.

Our journey was a long one over 60 years. Through Bathurst Heights, music, Metro Works and roads, music, trips to Algonquin Park, visits to Paudash Lake, music, wives, kids and friends and across distances, (Alberta to Ontario) . Through it all we kept in touch. Now that journey seems much too short. One more story, one more song, one more hug.
Goodbye my dear friend.

Harold was my first boss when I started with North York in 1968. He was the nicest person and a good friend. I always looked up to Harold because of all he accomplished not only at the office but in his personal life. His attention to detail in whatever he did is commendable. We lost contact over the years but I will always cherish the time we spent working together and his friendship after I left North York. Raymie and I wish you, his family, well. Harold had a very great impact on alot of people professionally and personally. Thank you Harold.
