Obituary for Elia Antonio Giuliano

Elia Antonio (Tony) Giuliano passed away peacefully in the early hours of April 12th, 2023, in his 98th year. He was born in Sant ’Elia a Pianisi, Italy on Sept 12, 1925. He left Italy as a single man in 1952 to make a better life and to supply long distance assistance to his family in Italy. Within a short period of time, he sponsored his brother to Canada, arranged to marry Michelina (Peluso) by proxy, and start his family. In 1962, after years of hard work and sacrifice, he became an entrepreneur when he opened his first restaurant. That business became the focal point of his and his family’s lives. During his lifetime he and Michelina sponsored and assisted family to come to Canada. Elia will always be remembered as a hard working, loving, generous and thoughtful family man. He was the definition of integrity and always had a welcoming smile for friends and family. He was ready and willing to help those who needed it.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 68 years, Michelina, along with their 3 sons Matteo (Joanne), Dionigi (Rose) and Paul (Jenna). He was proud Nonno to Kalia (Jonathan), Anthony, Kathryn, Nicole, Michael (Brady), Stephanie, Madeline and Sofia. He was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Penny. He will be fondly remembered by his brother Leonardo (Maria) and sister Lucia (late Michelino).
Caro Marito, Dad, Nonno and Stra-Nonno, we love you very much and will miss you for your love, support, care and always making us feel like we were the most important person in your life. We knew you put us before yourself.

Heaven is certainly a better place now that you have entered it.
