Dorothy (Timbers) Doner of Stouffville and formerly of Gowanstown and Gormley, passed away at Parkview Home on May 19, 2021 at the age of 100 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 69 years, Lloyd Doner, in 2013.

Dorothy was predeceased by her son John, in February, 2021 and is survived by daughter-in-law June Doner of Gormley, also survived by daughter Marilyn and husband Ron Stutzman of Arkport, New York and daughter Kathy and husband Willis Wideman of Kurtzville.

She is the cherished grandmother and greatgrandmother of Mark and Maria Doner (Cole, Julia), Lori and Dave Jones (Kendall, Peyton), Paul and Rebecca Doner (Lilyann, Elizabeth, John, Charlotte), Glenn and Dawn Doner (Riley, Olivia), Brad and Rubyan Stutzman (Isabela, Kailah), Jeff and Deodeth Stutzman (Agnes Suza, Avery Suza), Amy and Jason Hill (Sierra, Brayden), Dwayne and Beverly Wideman (Logan, Benjamin, Madelyn) and Daniel Wideman and his fiancée, Elena Boss.

Dorothy was predeceased by her sister, Irene Timbers and her brothers, Bob Timbers and his wife, Leatrice, Bruce Timbers and his wife, Joyce.

Predeceased by brothers/sisters-in-law Harold and Jean Doner, Gladys Schlichter, Fred Wilson, Elwood McCague, Walt Dyck, Don and Marian Doner. Remembered by surviving members of Lloyd’s family, brother-in-law Harrison Schlichter and sister-in-law Helen Dyck. Also remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was born December 6, 1920 in Markham Township to parents Winfred Timbers and Mabel (Sider). Growing up years were spent in the Stouffville area where she assisted her parents in farming and market gardening. She married Lloyd on June 21, 1944 and moved to the Doner family farm in Gormley where she would spend the next 38 years of her life, raising children, becoming an integral part of the dairy operation, of the community and of the Unionville Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. She enjoyed baking, gardening, reading and swimming in the pond.

In 1982, Lloyd and Dorothy retired to the community of Gowanstown where they made many new friends. Ill health necessitated another move in 2004 when they returned to the Stouffville area and became part of the “Parkview Community.” The land that Parkview is built on was once owned by Dorothy’s father, so in essence, she really was returning to her roots! Dorothy moved into Parkview Home in 2011. Her final move was made into the presence of her Saviour where she is now being welcomed – “Well done, good and faithful servant...Enter into the joy of your Lord.”

Condolences to Marilyn and Kathy and all family members. Mrs. Doner was a very kind and gentle person. We were also
sad to learn of John's passing earlier this year. Good memories from SS#4 school, and special friendships that were enjoyed and
nurtured. Wishing you all peace. Sincerely Sharon, Bob and Pat Campbell

Sending condolences to the Doner cousins (their families as well)on the passing of your Mom. I remember lots of visits on a hot Sunday evening after a church service at your farm. People did that back in the day and I loved tagging along as that meant I got to stay up later :). My parents Harold & Dorothy carried on the visits in later years at Parkview. The last time I saw your Mom she was in MS Hosp and I had Dad there for an appt. We stopped by to say hello and your Mom greeted us with a smile. It leaves a void to have these losses in our lives. You have let go of your parents and your brother. I have too. To say so long for now is easier when we know exactly where they are. Heavenly pie will be a delight for all of us one day. What a reunion that will be. Thinking of you, Beth Ann Foster

Paul, Carol and I express our deepest sympathy in the passing of Auntie Dorothy. Auntie
Dorothy was our Mother’s first cousin and we all have very special memories of time spent together.
I can only imagine, upon arrival, the joyous welcome to her Heavenly home.
For those of us left behind, cherish our special memories and rejoice we had the pleasure to spend time with Auntie Dorothy whether it was enjoying her wonderful cooking and baking or being influenced by her example.

Our condolences to the Doner Family in the passing of dear Dorothy. We have many fond memories of times together at Unionville Alliance Church. Dorothy and Lloyd were best friends to my parents. Our daughter Janice was a flower girl for John and June's wedding. Out thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time of grieving.
Much love,
Peter and Marilyn Cober

Dear Doners Please accept our sympathy on the passing of dear Dorothy. Home at last! What an incredibly faithful woman ! We remember her servant heart as she lovingly cared for little ones in the church nursery, our own kids among so many. She was heavily involved in the church kitchen, always cheerful and hard working, a perfect wife for farmer husband Lloyd. Together they were pillars of the church as they reflected God’s wisdom and love to all. We became good friends nearly 50 years ago. Your whole family means so much to us. We pray God will continue to bless you as you miss Dorothy and John as well. What a glorious reunion they must have had! Linda and Grif Speers
