Obituary for Cynthia Marina Bensley

Feb 10th 1935 – April 16th 2024

Forever with the Lord

Our beloved wife and mother Cynthia Marina Bensley passed away peacefully at
Mackenzie Health Hospital, Richmond Hill, on Tuesday April 16th 2024.
Cynthia is survived by her husband Ivan Maxwell Bensley and her son Shawn Bradford Bensley. She was from a large family of loving brothers and sisters and their families.

Cynthia was a woman of great substance who had amazing energy and a zest for
life. She was the pioneer of the family who migrated to Canada with her husband and son in1965.
This resulted in many of her siblings and their families and Ivans siblings and families,
also migrating to Canada.
A very caring and loving person who loved being with family and helping family and friends.
She started as a nurse at the Railway hospital in Perambur, and while there learned that there were opportunities for nurses in Canada.
It was not long before she got a job offer from Princess Margaret Hospital and she, her husband and her son Shawn were on their way to their new home. She was highly thought of by everyone and worked there until her retirement.
After retiring, she was not going to sit back. She travelled with her family, and she started volunteering at Mackenzie Health Hospital in Richmond Hill, and she continued there until her health started to deteriorate.

Cynthia was a woman of faith and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She prayed continually and was peaceful even as her health deteriorated.
She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday April 19th in St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 10295 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill at 10:30 a.m. A private cremation will take place.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of York Region, or the Princes Margaret Hospital Foundation.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.”
John 22:25
