Obituary for Constantin Lazarou

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Costas, on April 28th, 2023. Costas was a devoted husband to his wife Helen, and a loving father to his four children, Marco (Maria), Olga (Eli), Nico (Linda), and Jason (Summer) and an adoring grandfather to his four grandchildren, Maya, Hallie, Safira, and Felix. Costas was born in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1938 and immigrated to Canada in 1967 in search of a better life for himself and his family. He worked tirelessly as an engineer to provide for his family, often working long hours and sacrificing his own needs to ensure that his children had every opportunity to succeed.
Despite the challenges that came with being an immigrant in a new country, Costas was determined to create a better future for his family. He instilled in his children the value of hard work, perseverance, and the importance of education. He encouraged them to follow their dreams and provided unwavering support throughout their lives. Costas enjoyed talking politics with his friends while turning the lamb on the spit during Greek Easters, taking his family on camping trips to Algonquin Park, and travelling to Greece, his spiritual home.
Costas will be deeply missed by his children, Marco, Olga, Nico, and Jason and their partners, and his grandchildren, as well as his wife Helen. He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his kind and compassionate nature, and his remarkable work ethic.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Society in memory of Costas.
