Obituary for Carolyn Churchill

Peacefully at Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill on Friday, February 26th, 2021 in her 73rd year.
Born in Toronto, Carolyn was the loving daughter of William Burford and Mary Brotherton;
younger sister to Mary Lou (Harold Dagenais); aunt to Sharon Moir and Julie Moir
(predeceased) and “adopted” by her Hillyard cousins as another sister in their family. She was
loved by her many nieces and nephews whom she watched grow.

She will be missed by her beloved cat, Suzy.

Carolyn was born with heart issues that presented an uncertain future and faced milestone
surgeries that allowed her to live a life she loved and enjoyed with friends and family. She had
the tenacity and determination to meet and overcome her challenges.

Carolyn was a long-time employee of Sescolite Lighting, serving the Toronto home fashion and
interior design community.

Carolyn’s life was centred on family and friends and was most happy when she was with them
one-on-one or amongst them during life’s celebrations.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at Mackenzie Health in Richmond Hill and their
Reactivation Centre in North York who cared for her and the kind staff at Hill House Hospice
who comforted her and her family in her final hours.

Donations may be made to Hill House Hospice or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
