My mother was a gift to me. I always knew of her love and pride no matter my failings. Her sacrifices and care for me, through the many years, have made me a better Father.

And so I say to my children - Christine you are my heart - strong and loving beyond bounds. Andrew - you are my soul - you will always carry a part of me wherever you go. Auston and Avery - my beautiful grandchildren - you are the air I breath - you give me life.

To their mother Sarah, my sister Cathy, and all my family and friends - you are the blood coursing through my veins - your love sustains me wherever you are - we share a bond that can never truly be broken. To my wife Catherine - you are my strength when I falter.

Though I may not always show it, I know the quiet pride of a mother’s love ❤️. Thank you Mom. Your eternally grateful son, Stephen.

On April 9th the world lost this amazing woman, after a long fight with an illness no one deserves to experience. She fought Parkinsons for a long time and fought it hard with the same tenacity and strength she approached many things in her life. She was a great mom to my dad Steve Anker and my Aunt CE Van Den Anker, a great Nana to me and my brother Andrew Anker and a very excited to be a Great Nana to my neice and nephew Auston and Avery. It was hard to watch her slowly turn into a shadow of the woman she used to be at the hands of Parkinsons and dementia but, it was always incredible when she would have those moments of clarity and look at you with a knowing smile. She was an amazing cook and baker, and always loved to be a great host, everyone was always welcome at Nanas house for a swim in the pool and some yummy desserts. I will always think of you when I make some of those amazing receipes and try to remember all of your tips ♥ I will also always remember how she'd sing and hum cooking in the kitchen, the way she would laugh with her whole body when we would make jokes, and the many adventures took me and my brother on. It had been awhile since she recognized who I was but at Christmas when she sang Christmas songs with us it felt like she was back even for a fleeting moment. I have missed her for a long time thanks to Parkinsons, but now I will miss her even more , I love you forever and always Nana ❤❤❤ Love Christine.
