Obituary for Anita Kenyon

Anita Kenyon April 29, 1938 - April 13 2024

On April 13th 2024, Anita Kenyon slipped away peacefully from this world after leaving her indelible mark upon it through unconditional love, laughter and loyalty. Heaven’s Welcoming Committee included the love of her life, her husband John and her beloved son Stuart. Along with her parents Alfred and Irene and her siblings Jon and Denise. The original clan are back together and they will have welcomed Anita into their loving and comforting arms.

Having blessed us all with a wonderful example of family values, hard work and dedication, Anita leaves behind a devoted family and close circle of friends including Daughter Julie and Son-in-law Steve, Grandchildren Mitchell (& Riley), Tyler, Emma (& Kyle) and Justin. As well as extended family in Calgary, England, and Australia.

Originally born in Manchester England, Anita excelled in music as a pianist before meeting and marrying the man who would become her life partner. John and Anita had many adventures together as they raised their family and eventually emigrated to Calgary, Canada before finally making their home in Richmond Hill.

Anita was a woman of many talents and with a fierce determination. She loved her garden and was as equally gifted in the kitchen. Whether it was preparing a big Christmas Dinner, or baking with her Grandkids, her favourite ingredients were love and laughter. Above all, Anita will be remembered for her inner strength and resiliency and her open and giving heart. Her loyalty and dedication to her family and friends were beyond compare. Forever and immeasurably loved, Anita’s legacy will live on forever in the many lives that she has touched.

Many thanks to The Newmarket Health Centre where Anita lived for the last 5 years. The care that Anita received from the wonderful team was second to none and the level of professionalism has been exemplary. Immense appreciation is extended to them for such care and compassion that was offered during Anita’s palliative care. It was a beautiful and dignified passing facilitated by the team and the family is beyond grateful.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday April 20th, 2024 at Marshall Funeral Home 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill at 2 p.m. Visiting one hour prior form 1 to 2 p.m.
